TOP TARGET ARRIVES

16-Jun 21:44, by Ketts

One of Karl Robinson's top tagets penned a two-year deal at The Valley on Friday.

Much wanted Bradford winger, Mark Marshall, penned a two-year deal‎ with the Addicks on Friday, and will officially become a Charlton player on 1 July.

London born Marshall is 30-years-old and played a starring role in Bradford's run to the Play-Off Final, where the Bantams lost to a late Millwall goal at Wembley.

Marshall made 50 appearances for the Bantams this season, scoring 6 goals, and is naturally two-footed.

He started his career at Swindon, and has also played for Hereford, Barnet, Coventry and Port Vale.‎

Karl Robinson was thrilled with his new arrival and had this to say to the club's website:

"Heís a very good League One player, someone that weíve been after and one of our main targets.†‎
†‎†
"Heís somebody that, over the last two seasons, has come of age. Heís gone to Bradford and become one of the most effective wingers in the division.†

"When you look at him and Billy (Clarke) they were massive parts behind Bradfordís success last year. They know how to play together and are very efficient in what they do.†‎
††‎
"He can play off both feet, heís quick, heís a winger and heís aggressive in everything he does. Heís from London and he wants to play for Charlton."‎†
†‎†‎
Marshall added:

"Itís a dream come true, as a youth you always want to play for a local team.†

"Being back home and being around a big club with a big history, itís a big thing for me. Iím looking to come and hit the ground running.†‎
†‎†‎
"Itís one of the teams I grew up in and around and you always want to be a part of it."‎†
†‎†
‎Marshall, Bradford's current Player Of The Year, is an exciting player who likes to dribble and deliver plenty of crosses into the box.

The draw for the first round of the Carabao Cup was also made on Friday, and the Addicks will travel to Exeter during week commencing 7 August.‎

The game will be difficult for fans to get to, though they do have the option of returning on the overnight sleeper to Paddington.

Young central defender, Terrell Thomas, recently released by Charlton has signed for League One rivals Wigan.
