ON YOUR MARKS

The English pre-season campaign begins on Saturday, and we have the latest news of two possible striker moves.

The Addicks end a week of intense on field activities, with back-to-back‎ games against Welling and Greenwich Borough on Saturday.

Karl Robinson will split his squad between the two games, with the senior players getting 60 - 70 minutes under their belts, before giving way to the fringe and academy players.

It will be easy for fans to attend both games if they want, the two grounds are close together and on the same train line.

The squad picked up a few niggles in Ireland, and it remains to be seen how many are ruled out of the two Saturday games.

Despite suffering two defeats, Robinson was pleased with how the Irish trip went, and had this to say:‎
"Itís been a really good two weeks,‎ Itís been a good trip and I donít think anybody would say that we havenít worked them hard.†

"Weíve pushed their bodies to limits that they havenít been pushed to before.

"Weíve come here and played against these strong teams and thatís the whole idea behind pre-season. You push your body to the limit and play under fatigue."

There has been speculation linking Lee Novak with Bury‎, and Lee Erwin with a move to The Valley.

Erwin is a Leeds player who scored 8 goals while on loan at Oldham last season.

At this stage, there does not seem much substance to either story.
