JANUARY TARGET NAMED

10-Sep 20:57, by Ketts

There is encouraging news about one of the injured players, and we reveal a likely target in the January transfer window.

At his post match press conference, Karl Robinson ‎said that he hoped that Karlan Ahearne-Grant would be available for Tuesday's game against Wigan at The Valley.

Ahearne-Grant picked up a groin strain in the Oldham game, so Tuesday may be optimistic in terms of him being fit to return.

Ben Reeves is still receiving treatment for a strain, and it seems that it will be some weeks before Karl Robinson  ‎will be able to consider him for first team action.

Lewis Page is on schedule to return next month. He has has been plagued with injuries since arriving at The Valley in January, and he will be hoping his woes are now behind him.

There is better news of Mark Marshall though. He  is now able to use the running machine, and there is light at the end of the tunnel for the classy wide man.

Charlton's bright start has naturally fuelled promotion thoughts amongst Addicks fans. It is early days of course, and ‎Robinson's team will need reasonable luck with injuries.

But if they around the top of the table at Christmas, Charlton will strengthen their squad for the run in.

High on the priority list will be Stevenage's Matt Godden, who came desperately close to signing for the Addicks on deadline day. ‎

Godden is 26-years-old and netted 21 times in 42 League Two games last season. He gave Stevenage the lead against Lincoln on Saturday, though the Imps ran out 2-1 winners.
