ADDICKS MISS OUT ON WEMBLEY APPEARANCE

05-Dec 03:22, by Ketts

AFC Wimbledon were drawn away to Tottenham in the FA Cup.

AFC Wimbledon's reward for beating Charlton on Sunday, is a plum tie with Tottenham at Wembley.

Players, staff and fans of the Valley outfit will be ‎hugely disappointed to miss out on a rare Wembley appearance.

A much changed Addicks team will face Swansea Under-21s in the Checkatrade Trophy at the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Karl Robinson's team is likely to be sprinkled with youngsters ‎and players returning from long term injury.

Robinson said last week that he hoped to have Harry Lennon, Lewis Page and Jason Pearce in his back four. The long term absentees will have to be managed caefully and are unlikely to play the full game.

Charlton's Under-23‎ side lost 1-0 to Bristol City at Greenwich Borough's ground on Monday, and their scheduled Kent Senior Cup game - due to be played on Wednesday - has been postponed.

Those players who did not feature in Monday's game are likely to play in Swansea. Robinson‎ told the press on Sunday that only a couple of the team that started against AFC Wimbledon will be involved at the Liberty.

Trying to predict the team Robinson will put out is something of a lottery, but given the clues, it could look something like this:‎

Phillips; Barnes, Dijksteel, Lennon, Mascoll; Aribo, Jackson, Lapslie, Ahearne-Grant, Maloney; Best.

Subs: Maynard-Brewer, Page, Pearce, Dodoo‎, Hackett-Fairchild.

‎The referee will be Lee Swabey from Plymouth.

The game will be played in a near empty stadium, and will be used as an opportunity to get some minutes‎ into the returning players by Robinson.

Few will shed any tears if the Addicks are eliminated. ‎
