AJOSE SET TO BE INVOLVED AT DONCASTER

08-Feb 05:06, by Ketts

Nicky Ajose could be involved in Saturday's clash at Doncaster.

Nicky Ajose last played for Charlton in January of last year. He featured in the 4-1 win over Bristol Rovers at The Valley, the game was notable f‎or Josh Magennis' hat-trick.

His last goal for the Addicks was in December 2016, when he scored in the 3-1 defeat against Millwall at the Den.

Ajose made 17 league starts and 4 sub appearances for Charlton, scoring 6 goals.

He then went on loan to Swindon, where he netted 5 goals in 15 appearances.

He was loaned to his home town club - Bury - for this season, but the move has not worked out.

He was officially recalled last week, though he has been back training at Sparrows Lane‎ for several weeks.

Ajose has had a slight groin strain, and was due to take part in an Under-23 game this week, but was pulled out as a precaution.

He will return to training on Thursday, and warranted he is fit, he will travel to Doncaster for Saturday's match.

This is what Karl Robinson had to say: ‎

‎"Nicky will start training on Thursday, so well introduce him very slowly. The players have worked really hard in the last two days.‎

He was going to play in an Under-23s game on Monday, he wanted to play in it, and we stopped him (as a precaution).‎

If hes fit, hell be involved (at Doncaster).‎

‎The Addicks have paid the price for not making the most of their opportunities this season. The team create plenty of chances, but do not convert enough of them.

Still only 26, Ajose could just be the fox-in-the-box‎ that Robinson has been searching for.
